MCWT Partner Companies / Prospective Intern Employers:
This program is for first- or second-year college students pursuing computer science or an equivalent as a major with a GPA of 3.0 or better. Some qualifications include having a general knowledge of standard office applications (e.g. PowerPoint, Excel, project) and an understanding of basic IT skills (e.g. coding, data, hardware/software, process). Interns will gain experience in new technologies, work in professional teams and improve communication skills. It will be a great opportunity to become a part of the Michigan Council of Women in Technology Foundation.
Additionally, partner companies from the MCWT community who specialize in IT staffing are also available as part of this intern program for onboarding and hiring of the intern, if you would prefer to work through one of these firms.
Please reply to MCWTintern@mcwt.org to participate in this program. We encourage you to share your company profile; number of intern openings and intern job descriptions for this program; suggested start and end dates; and key contact information. Candidates will be selected by an intern selection committee and robust application process with MCWT scholars given first priority for placement. We will be conducting rolling reviews to match candidates to available intern positions and will invite you to participate in the matching/approval process. The intern program will run in the June to September 2017 timeframe for a minimum 6 weeks with possible extension options. Should you have any questions regarding the specifics of this internship program, please contact MCWTintern@mcwt.org.
